Fill-A-Cart
Food insecurity refers to the lack of consistent access to nutritious food, which is essential for an active and healthy lifestyle. Unfortunately, the United States is home to over 38 million people living in food insecure households, with 1 in 6 children regularly experiencing hunger.
The absence of sustainable nutrition directly affects an individual’s ability to thrive beyond meeting their basic needs. According to Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, access to shelter and food is the foundational requirement for all human endeavors, including job security, love, self-esteem, and self-actualization.
At DTVMS, we strongly believe in eliminating hunger wherever it exists. We recognize that hunger hinders personal accountability and responsibility, preventing individuals from making meaningful contributions to society.
Statistics further emphasize the significance of addressing food insecurity:
- School-aged children facing severe hunger are 53.1% more likely to experience severe depression.
- Children living in food insecure households are more prone to attention disorders.
- A staggering 36% of college students suffer from food insecurity.
When individuals lack the energy to start their day, it becomes challenging for them to reach their full potential. Moreover, when their primary focus is on meeting basic human needs, they are unable to contribute to the progress of society. As responsible global citizens, it is our duty to provide food to those in need.
To take action towards this cause, we are excited to announce our second annual “Fill a Cart” campaign for the upcoming Thanksgiving season. This initiative aims to provide the opportunity for individuals in need within the Vegas community to fill their carts with food and other essential items.
The DTVMS team is committed to donating towards this campaign, and we invite you to join us by matching our contribution. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to XDC.com and AMG.com for their contributions in making this campaign possible.
